Indian Student from Haryana Stabbed to Death in the UK; Victim Identified as 30-Year-Old Vijay Kumar

A 30-year-old Indian student, identified by Indian sources as Vijay Kumar Shioran from Charkhi Dadri district in Haryana, was stabbed to death in Worcester, central England. Although British police have not yet formally named the victim, reports from India confirmed his identity.

According to West Mercia Police, officers were alerted around 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, after they found a critically injured man on Barbourne Road in Worcester. He was rushed to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later the same day.

Police have arrested five individuals on suspicion of murder. All five have been released on bail while investigations continue. A sixth person was also arrested but later released with no further action taken.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Holehouse expressed condolences to the victim’s family and appealed for information from the public. He stated that a comprehensive investigation has been underway to establish the circumstances leading to the fatal stabbing. Officers are expected to maintain a presence on Barbourne Road over the weekend to gather further evidence, and police have assured the local community that there is no cause for alarm.

In India, the incident sparked shock and grief. Sunil Satpal Sangwan, MLA from Charkhi Dadri, expressed deep sorrow on social media, calling the killing “heartbreaking and shocking.” He urged the Indian government to intervene urgently and provide full support to the bereaved family, including assistance in repatriating Vijay Kumar’s body to India.

The investigation into the fatal attack remains ongoing as police continue to seek witnesses and additional information.
