India Pakistan Border Calm Amid Operation Sindoor
Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan, the situation at the border appears stable. No cross-border firing has been reported from across the Line of Control (LoC), and life in Jammu & Kashmir is returning to normal. Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Air Force (IAF), remains active, with further objectives expected to be executed soon.
IAF Continues Operation Sindoor
The Indian Air Force confirmed that several key targets have already been achieved under Operation Sindoor. Plans to complete the remaining missions are underway. The operation began on May 7, 2025, and has been India’s major response to cross-border terrorism.
By May 10, Pakistan's shelling and attacks had led to the martyrdom of seven Indian soldiers, including five from the armed forces and two from the Border Security Force (BSF). Additionally, 60 soldiers were injured, and 27 civilians lost their lives. Despite these losses, the Indian Air Force has appealed to citizens not to spread or believe in rumors.
PM Modi Vows Zero Tolerance on Terror
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed his government's commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism. “This is a new India, ” Modi stated, “and it will act decisively against terrorism on both sides of the border.”
Modi’s strong message comes amid efforts to stabilize the region, while also sending a signal that India will not hold back against terror threats. He emphasized that future actions will reflect this firm stance.
DGMO-Level Talks Scheduled
In a significant diplomatic move, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan are scheduled to hold talks today at 12 PM. This conversation will include only military representatives from both nations, with no third-party involvement. The dialogue aims to prevent further escalation and review the ground situation.
Border Regions Return to Normal
Despite recent hostilities, border areas in Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, and Jammu & Kashmir are gradually returning to normalcy. Local markets have reopened, and civilian movement has resumed. This return to routine suggests that immediate tensions may be easing.
Opposition Demands Special Parliament Session
Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi have written to Prime Minister Modi, urging him to convene an all-party meeting and a special session of Parliament. They stressed the need for a unified national strategy in handling such sensitive cross-border situations.
