Chandigarh: 9 April 2025 — The National Security Act (NSA) has been lifted from Papalpreet Singh, a close aide of Waris Punjab chief Amritpal Singh. He is currently lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam, but now preparations are underway to bring him to Punjab.
Papalpreet was arrested along with Amritpal in 2023 and charged with anti-national activities under the NSA. Now that this legal section has been removed, he will be brought to Punjab to face trial under ordinary cases.
